Your "My Settings" options

Your "My Settings" options

Overview

When you click on the Cog in the top right of the software, there's a My Settings menu. This has options that you can set that are only applied to your account.

Coordinate Display

This setting configures the default display for the coordinates in the footer of the map view. There are three options:
  1. Live (default): This gives an instant view of the Easting and Northing coordinates of your cursor location.
  2. Centre: This gives the Easting and Northing coordinates of the centre of the map view.
  3. Extent: this gives coordinates for the bottom left Easting and Northing, and the top right Easting and Northing (in that order).

Notes
Note: you can toggle between these three options from the footer by clicking on the icon to the left of the coordinates. Setting it here is just the default for when you log in.

Geolocation

This tick-box option allows the map to get access to your location, via your web browser. This results in a live marker on the map with a circle around it indicating the accuracy of your reported position.

The accuracy and how often it's updated will depend on how your device reports your position. For example, mobile phones tend to have good GPS receivers so the position is generally good. On a desktop computer it's usually very wrong.

Remember Session

This tick-box option allows your account to remember your last zoom and map position, along with what layers you have switched on. When you return to the software, these will be loaded, so your start position will be where you last used the software instead of the default home position.
